Job description.

We are partnering with a leading global communications consultancy to appoint a Director — Issues & Crisis Management based in Dammam, KSA. This is a senior advisory role supporting high-profile regional and international clients on business-critical mandates, reputation risk, and complex stakeholder environments.

The Director will play a central role in anticipating, managing, and responding to reputational, regulatory, and operational issues — providing strategic counsel to C-suite leaders and government stakeholders across sensitive, fast-moving situations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end issues and crisis management mandates for major corporate and government clients
  • Advise senior executives on reputation risk, crisis preparedness, and response strategy
  • Develop scenario planning frameworks, holding statements, Q&A, and escalation protocols
  • Direct rapid-response media strategy and stakeholder communications during live issues
  • Provide counsel on geopolitical, regulatory, and policy-driven developments impacting clients
  • Manage cross-market teams and coordinate with legal, compliance, and public affairs advisors
  • Support business development through crisis audits, risk assessments, and client proposals
  
Qualifications:
  • 10–15+ years’ experience in issues management, crisis communications, or strategic advisory
  • Background in a global agency, advisory firm, government entity, or in-house corporate affairs team
  • Proven experience handling high-stakes, reputation-critical situations
  • Strong understanding of the Saudi / GCC media, regulatory, and stakeholder landscape
  • Exceptional executive presence and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience advising C-suite and government stakeholders is essential
  • Arabic language capability is advantageous but not mandatory
