About the Client
Our client, a leading specialty tire producer, is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to join their team as a Senior R&D Manager. With a strong presence in over 50 countries and a focus on high-performance tires for Agriculture, Material Handling, and Construction vehicles, our client has been at the forefront of tire manufacturing since 2002.
About the Role
  • Oversee R&D, NPD, and technical and customer complaint management
  • Coordinate with Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, and Procurement to collect VOC (Voice of Customer) and define customer requirements
  • Design and develop compounds and materials for various applications
  • Ensure smooth introduction of new sizes in pilot production and reduce NPD cost
  • Conduct benchmark analysis and develop cost-effective and market-leading product designs
  • Conduct process feasibility studies and implement DFMEA
  • Collaborate on cavity dimensions and carcass structure for mold design
  • Analyze and optimize tread pattern designs through simulation
  • Re-engineer existing products to enhance competitiveness
  • Drive project expansion by finalizing new machine specifications and increasing machine output
  • Foster innovation for next-generation tires to penetrate niche markets and expand the current market
  • Validate and approve Tire Engineering Specifications
  • Conduct field visits to study product performance
  • Strategic planning, budget preparation, and regular reporting
About the Candidate  
  • 15-20 years of hands-on experience in the pneumatic specialty tire industry (Agri, Industrial & Trucks)
  • BS Degree in Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of compound technology, tire engineering, and heat engineering
  • Familiarity with product applications and market trends
  • Understanding of VOC and converting it into customer requirements
  • Knowledge of tire standards (ETRTO, JATMA, T&RA, ISO, etc.)
  • Proficiency in tire engineering, including pattern design and simulation
  • Understanding of tire homologation processes
  • Knowledge of tire manufacturing processes and compounding
  • Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Familiarity with advanced tire testing methodologies (Indoor & Outdoor)
  • Strong management and leadership skills with technical proficiency

*Open to travel often to Sri Lanka or relocation can be provided
