As the Logistics Director in the event industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistical aspects related to events. From transportation and venue logistics to supply chain
management and on-site coordination, your role is pivotal in ensuring seamless operations and exceptional experiences for both clients and attendees.
The logistics director must have at least 10 years of proven successful experience in a high-level international environment, organizing intercontinental events (conferences, forums, seminars, congresses, public cultural or sports, events, etc.)

- Logistics Strategy and Planning:
- Commercial negotiations and excellent client relations
- Responding to French or international tenders
- Budget and financial tracking
- Supervising permanent teams (5 people) and project teams (up to 100 people in the field)
- Knowledge of audiovisual and stage production
- Complete mastery of the logistics chain: Transport / Accommodation / Catering
- Ability to develop participant registration and management process
- Develop strategic logistics plans tailored to the unique requirements of each event, considering factors such as venue logistics, transportation, equipment, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including event planners, vendors, and suppliers, to align logistics strategies with event objectives and client expectations.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and contingency planning to mitigate potential logistical challenges and ensure smooth event operations.
- Transportation and Venue Logistics:
- Coordinate transportation logistics, including vehicle scheduling, route planning, and traffic management, to facilitate the smooth movement of personnel and equipment to and from event venues.
- Manage venue logistics, including load-in/load-out schedules, parking arrangements, and facility access, to ensure seamless setup and teardown of event infrastructure.
- On-Site Coordination and Execution:
- Lead on-site logistics teams during events, providing direction and support to ensure adherence to logistical plans and timelines.
- Manage the badging process
- Organize the staff logistics (Negotiation with the hotel for corporate rate, book flights, book transportation)
- Oversee the setup and arrangement of event spaces, including staging, signage, and seating arrangements, to optimize attendee flow and enhance the overall event experience.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for logistical inquiries and issues during events, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to address any challenges promptly and effectively.
- Familiar with the RCU protocol.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Event Management, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCMP) preferred.
- Proven experience in logistics management, preferably within the event industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, transportation logistics, and venue operations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Effective leadership and team management abilities, with experience in leading and motivating cross- functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and tools, such as TMS (Transportation Management System) and WMS (Warehouse Management System).
