Lead Java Developer

We're hiring on behalf of a fast-growing payments technology company based in Greater Kuala Lumpur. They're looking for a Lead Java Developer to take ownership of their third-party payment platform - the infrastructure that sits behind every transaction they process.

This isn't a support role. You'll be the technical lead on the platform. Building it, scaling it, and making sure it runs.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Working directly with customers and internal operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into platform improvements.
• You'll own the development plan end-to-end - scoping, execution, delivery, quality.
• Write and review core code while mentoring and guiding the wider development team.
• Responsible for payment risk management, forecasting, and controls across the platform.

  
Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in the design and development of third-party payment platforms.
• 3+ years minimum in software project management with a strong grasp of agile methodologies - someone who knows how to ship fast and iterate.
• Deep familiarity with the full payment lifecycle: gateway integration, bank docking, clearing, settlement, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Strong technical foundation in Java MVC, distributed systems architecture, multi-threaded management, distributed caching, message middleware, database clusters, and server integration.
• Proficient in English. Mandarin is a strong advantage.
